Abbey Upholstered Platform Bed

Adapted from an early 19th century daybed this unique sleigh form with fabric or leather creates immediate visual appeal. The shaped head rail is hand carved bundled reeds with bands of ribbon and center scrolls that flow into acanthus leaves. Impressive posts with carved overlapping laurel leaves and shaped rails that are both framed and molded complete this magnificent design statement.
